Cuttlebug / Nestabilities Tip

I thought I would share a little helpful tip with you today. I love nestabilities. I just figured out that if I am going to run one die through, might as well fill up the page in random sizes so that I have extra shapes ready for a future card

I especially like to do this with my basic and favorite paper colors- colors that are my "go to colors".

No rhyme or reason for the sizes- just whatever fits on the paper!

This way I'm a step ahead when I want to make a quick card.

Now, I need to figure out a way to organize them on my table.

Do you have any fun tips ??

  1. How about baggies or envelopes in an index card file, with tab dividers that have swatches of the paper color on them?

  2. I like Kathryn's idea. Keeping them in color groups would be good. I keep my scraps in drawers , iris drawers, by color groups. So I could put each baggie in my scrap drawer. let me know what you come up with cuz it sounds like an awesome idea to save paper.

  3. i do this too, KJ! always stocking up... otherwise i'll cut a strip of paper big enough to fit one or two dies, so the larger piece is already trimmed down for future use.

i organize my die-cuts by shape, regardless of colour. when i use an image, i usually have an idea in mind as to what shape i'd like to mount it, so i just go to my baggie of ovals, or circles, or what have you. this is especially helpful if you're working with sketches!

  4. Great Idea! What if you used empty CTMH stamp envelopes (used for sassy strands, charms, etc) and store them in there according to color group (blues & greens; yellow, orange red; etc. I'm thinking I need to use those more for organization.

  5. This is a great idea Kelly Jo! I do the same and store them in baggies by shapes and color.
Helps to use up left over scraps of paper. :)

  6. I have a shallow box right by my main stamping area. I put all the extra cut outs of all kinds in. It's not unusual for me to grab something out of it at least once a day! When it gets to full.... I bag it and give it to one of my stamping buddies!
