Happy Monday Bloggers! It's been a busy week for me and I've not had any time in the stamp room. BOO!! I work for a halloween costume internet retailer and as you might imagine, we are SUPER busy right now. As a matter of fact, I just got home from work. That alarm clock is going to come awful early tomorrow morning.

I thought since it 'tis the season...we should do some halloween colors this week! I LOVED Karen's sketch this week so I used that for my inspo... Iwish I could get a better shot of my card but it is so long....it fits a #10 envelope.
Karen also is using a new widget that I'm going to give a try. I wish Mr. Linky didn't have such anxiety problems :)

My Card Recipe:
stamps- Say It In Style- CTMH
Paper- pansy purple, white daisy, black- CTMH
other- EK Sucess Round 1" punch, Recollections Embellishements, Walmart buttons, Ribbon from a scrappy shop that has closed.

This card was very simple to create. The flower was stamped on scrap paper and then mounted onto the top orange layer for some interest. The black twine was wrapped around the card front twice and tied to a button. I had to use a glue dot to keep that button down. Unfortunately, this twine was in a big knot in my ribbon drawer so it's a little more frayed than I would like it to be.

WCMD Challenge #1: Japan

I have committed to getting crafty today for World Card Making Day! I was inspired by Nichole's challenge to create something that looked Japanese. I love this little stamp I purchased at Archiver's and to me, it has a Japanese flair. I wanted to create something crisp and clean and I believe I accomplished it with this card.

shabby wishes

I have to say this is the first card I've made in awhile that actually came out on paper better than in my head. It has a shabby look that I love. I have held on to a few scrap pieces of the polka dot DP for so long because I just love it and it's all I've got left of this paper. Don't even recall the manufacturer.
Pairing it with the blue paper gave it a whole new life. Thanks Dawn for a great color challenge. I love it so much, I am thinking of using it for my Christmas cards this year.

I have a funny story about the brown kraft paper- I've been out and looking for some. Finally found it at Hobby Lobby the other night and I was super excited that the pack of 50 came with matching envelopes- how fun! I fold up my card to use it as the base and I can't help but notice it's shy of a normal size card...The size is 4 x 5 1/2- what the?????? So, in order to make it work for this card, I through a piece of scalloped cranberry stock on the inside bottom of the card. If there is anything I hate, it's a card that doesn't properly fit the envelope.

Hope you have a great weekend planned! I plan to scrap my San Francisco trip, meet my mom for lunch, do a bit of shopping (got the icky Sam's Club trip out of the way tonight) and then dinner with the family tomorrow night. I picked up the latest Martha Stewart Living tonight so I can't wait to curl up with that tomorrow afternoon.
