Innagural Color Challenge: Color Chef Challenge #1

***ETA- don't worry if you don't have the exact color listed....feel free to use something similar in color. Now that a couple of you have mentioned it, I might even be using a color that has been disco'd, but I love it so. Ocean would be a little darker version but would also look great!

I am really excited to introduce to you my first color challenge! I have penned it Color Chef Challenge and plan to list a new color challenge each Monday.

Here's the scoop: make a card with this color challenge and use Mr. Linky down at the end of my post to enter your card. Mr. Linky is super easy to use. Here are a few "rules"
  • Please do me a favor and just link directly to the card, not your entire blog.
  • Mr. Linky is super easy to use- this will allow us all to link right to your fab creation!
  • There is no time limit to when you have to enter your card.
  • Occasionally, I might offer a prize and will announce that on the appropriate week.
  • For fun, I'll randomly select a "Color Chef Challenge of the Week". Just have your card uploaded by Saturday at 10am of the same week. As previously mentioned, you can upload cards anytime, but to be featured for that color combo, just upload by Saturday.
  • Don't worry if you don't have a blog. You can go to splitcoaststampers.com and enter the code that I will provide in each color challenge.
  • I am using Close To My Heart colors, but don't fret!!! If you don't have that particular brand, feel free to use whatever is similar in your favorite brand.
  • Feel free to upload a card or scrapbook layout or any other altered item using the featured colors.

Now, on to the challenge!

Color Chef Challenge #1 Inspiration:

I found this awesome bag over at www.bizzielizzie.com and thought it would be a great color inspiration. Isn't this bag awesome! Be sure to go to her site and check out her other bags- she has a really cool style!

Color Chef Challenge Colors:

Sweet Leaf
White Daisy
Breeze
My card:

I used the swiss dots folder on the bottom 3/4 of my card front. Then, on a separate piece of paper I stamped the images and cut them out- 1 1/4" each. Then I mounted them on top of the card front.

The ovals were created using the oval nestabilities and my cuttlebug. I finished the sentiment layer with some metal adhesive balls. The white sentiment layer is also mounted.

Card Recipe:
paper- white daisy and sweet leaf- CTMH
stamps- spunky greetings and intrinsic backgrounds- CTMH
other- mark richards metals, 3m mounting foam, oval nestabilities, cuttlebug.

I really hope you'll play along! I can't wait to see what you'll create.

Upload by Saturday at 10am (CST) using Mr. Linky or at KJ1 if you are going to post your card on splitcoaststampers.com

CTMH discontinued Breeze last year, so I will probably use Ocean instead.
